How we score
A Trust Score is a 0–100 number computed from facts a marketplace publishes about itself, plus its public Trustpilot profile. There is no editorial adjustment on top: two people with the same source pages would get the same number. Every brand page prints the full input table, so you can check the arithmetic.
What counts as a fact
A statement on the marketplace's own domain: terms of service, a refund or buyer-protection page, a fees page, an about page, the help centre. For reputation, the Trustpilot profile as it stood on the date printed on the page. For company age, the company's own founding statement, or the domain registration date from the registry when the company does not say.
What does not count: our own orders (we do not place test orders and do not claim to), traffic estimates from third-party tools, "average delivery time" claims that the store does not publish, forum rumours, and reviews from platforms we cannot link to. A fact we cannot find is recorded as not published and scores zero in that input. That is deliberate: a promise that is not written down is not a promise a buyer can hold the store to.
The rubric
Buyer protection — 30 points
- Escrow / payout held until the buyer confirms — 12
- Warranty window: 14+ days 8, 7–13 days 6, 1–6 days 4
- Refund to the original payment method — 5 (store credit only, or a fee withheld — 3)
- Documented dispute process — 5
Reputation — 25 points
- Trustpilot rating, scaled: 15 × (rating − 1) / 4
- Share of 1-star reviews: 10 × (1 − 2 × share), floored at 0
- Fewer than 100 reviews or no profile: not scored, the total is marked provisional
Transparency — 20 points
- Fees published for both buyer and seller — 6 (one side — 3)
- Legal entity and country published — 6 (one of the two — 3)
- Refund / warranty policy on a dedicated page — 5 (inside the terms — 3)
- Prices visible without an account — 3
Track record — 15 points
- 8+ years 15 · 5–7 years 12 · 3–4 years 9 · 1–2 years 6 · under a year 3
- Years count from the company's own founding statement, else the domain registration date
Payments and support — 10 points
- Payment methods: 5+ → 5, 3–4 → 4, 1–2 → 2
- Live chat 3 (other channels 1), plus 2 for published 24/7 hours
Tiers
- 80–100 Strong. Publishes escrow, a warranty, its company and its fees, and holds a good rating at volume.
- 65–79 Solid. Most of the above, with one or two gaps you should read about before ordering.
- 50–64 Mixed. Real gaps in protection or transparency, or a rating dragged by one-star volume.
- Below 50 Weak. Little published protection, or a poor rating, or both.
A dashed score circle means provisional: the reputation block could not be scored because the store has fewer than 100 Trustpilot reviews or no profile. The other 75 points are computed as usual, so a provisional score is a ceiling of 75, not a judgement.
Why reputation is only 25 points
Ratings on this market cluster between 4.3 and 4.8, mostly because stores invite every buyer to review after a successful delivery. The signal that separates them is the one-star share, which is why it has its own line. Even so, a rating is what past buyers said, while the protection and transparency blocks are what the store has committed to in writing — the part you can actually enforce when something goes wrong. We weight the written commitments higher on purpose.
Updates and corrections
Facts carry the date they were checked (2026-09-13 for this edition). Policies change; if you find a page that contradicts a fact here, write to hello@permanmail.com with the URL and we will re-check and correct it. Corrections are applied to the data, which recomputes the score — we do not edit scores by hand.
